We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer – Execution who will report directly to the founders and own the delivery of CostRoom’s backend services.
This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor who enjoys building, shipping, and owning production-grade systems.
Develop and maintain backend services for:
SaaS and cloud data ingestion
Cost analytics and reporting
Procurement workflows and automation
Build clean, scalable RESTful APIs
Deliver production-ready features with speed and quality
Optimize application performance and database queries
Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
Collaborate closely with the architecture lead and interns
Strong proficiency in Java 11/17+, multithreading, and concurrency
Spring Boot, Hibernate / JPA
Relational databases: PostgreSQL / Oracle
NoSQL databases: MongoDB
REST APIs and system integrations
Docker, Kubernetes
Cloud exposure: AWS / Azure / GCP
Maven / Gradle, Git
JUnit, Mockito
4–6+ years of backend engineering experience
Proven execution and ownership mindset
Experience in startup or fast-paced product environments preferred
